  • Where are you located?
My office address is: 800 E 101st Terr, Suite 350, Kansas City, MO 64131. Approximately one block north of I-435 on Holmes Rd., the office is easily reachable from anywhere in the Kansas City metro. I also provide therapy online throughout Missouri, with online services in Kansas and North Carolina coming in April 2024.
  • What is the best way to contact you?
For scheduling a free initial consultation, please visit the booking page. For existing clients wanting to schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment, please visit the client portal. Current clients can also use the messaging feature in the client portal to send me secure messages in a text-like format. For other issues or concerns, please feel free to call or email me at 913-214-2490 or whit@whitdavison.com. As always, if it is an emergency, please call or text the Crisis Hotline at 988, call emergency services at 911, or go to your local hospital emergency room.
  • How can I book a consultation or an appointment for individual therapy?
For a free initial consultation, please visit the booking page and choose a time that works for you. Existing clients can schedule, cancel, or reschedule appointments through my client portal.
  • How much does individual therapy cost and do you accept insurance?
Individual sessions cost $165, and I see clients weekly or every other week. I offer monthly sessions or occasional check-ins as needed for established clients who have met their therapy goals. I do not accept insurance. I can provide you with a superbill (a fancy receipt) so you can request out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance. Out-of-network benefits can reimburse anywhere from $0 to about $80 or more per session, so it is important to talk to your insurance company about how this might work for you.
  • What can I expect in an initial consultation?
The initial consultation via phone or over video gives us a chance to chat and determine if I would be a good fit for your needs. I'll ask for a brief description of what brings you to therapy and get an initial sense of your goals. You can ask any questions you have about me, about therapy with me, or about therapy itself. If we both decide it is a good fit, we will schedule your first appointment. If it's not a good fit, I will provide you with additional referrals if you need them.
  • What can I expect in my first appointment?
Once we schedule your first appointment, you will get an email with access to my client portal, where you can complete your paperwork. I do not have clients complete a lengthy intake form and instead go over all questions about your history, your concerns, and goals in the first session.
  • How long are sessions and how many sessions will I need?
Sessions last 50 minutes and the number of sessions necessary to meet your goals will depend on where you begin and where you want to go. Please feel free to ask me about your specific concerns in the consultation or at any time.
